   About us

Cornerstone Companies LLC was founded in 1984 by Bob Singleton of Charlotte, North Carolina.  Bob and his wife, Ruth, owned and operated a commercial sign company, Carolina Sign Company, Inc. from 1984 to 2005.  Carolina Sign Company, Inc. provided signs throughout the United States while their primary focus was in the Carolinas. Carolina Sign Company, Inc. made signs for a great many industries; Real Estate, Banking, Racing, Construction and even for Hollywood movie sets.   This vast and varied exposure helped Bob and Ruth decide what signs were of greatest interest to them personally. Today, they serve the clients they felt best qualified to serve:  churches, schools, military bases, municipalities, fire departments and businesses in need of changeable message signs.

Bob served on the Board of Directors of the United States Sign Council for four years,  During that time, he was able to discuss sign prices with shop owners from coast to coast.  Bob became convinced that many churches and schools throughout the US were paying far more than needed for standard institutional signs. This formed a conviction for Bob to change the company's marketing focus. The company's business model was changed to reflect the commitment to helping people throughout the US save on their signs. Cornerstone now serves clients throughout the US and has provided signs to clients as far away as Japan.

In 1997 Churchsigns LLC was formed to facilitate the change of the company's focus.  In 2002, the name was changed to Cornerstone Companies LLC. Today, Cornerstone Companies has provided signs to churches, schools, military bases and businesses in over 40 states.

Cornerstone works hard to help prospective new clients understand the differences in signs and why seemingly similar models differ in price. Cornerstone began with the Mission of helping churches and schools save on their signs.  To accomplish this Mission, Cornerstone has not hired commissioned salespeople nor paid for denominational endorsements which only add to client's costs.
